Visualizing Tintoretto

Contemporary museum exhibitions are often designed to offer a linear and didactic experience. This project, instead, aims to create an interactive dialogue between the artwork and the visitor. It envisions the return of three of Tintoretto’s paintings — The Finding of the Body of Saint Mark (Pinacoteca di Brera, Milan), Saint Mark’s Body Brought to Venice, and St. Mark Rescuing a Saracen from Shipwreck (Galleria dell’Accademia, Venice) — to their original location, the Scuola Grande di San Marco in Venice. An autonomous installation near the paintings projects analytical videos that can be experienced in two modes: an interactive one and a guided one with narrated commentary. The contents use video mapping techniques based on 3D models of perspective reconstructions, breaking down each painting into smaller parts to illustrate its technical and formal components.

An interactive exhibition concept that brings three of Tintoretto’s paintings back to their original home, the Scuola Grande di San Marco in Venice. Through video mapping and guided narration, visitors engage in a dynamic dialogue with the artworks, exploring their spatial, technical, and formal elements beyond the limits of traditional linear museum experiences.
